By laying the foundation stone for “Iskra” Centre for Sports and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, Delta Foundation announced the beginning of construction of Delta Holding second endowment. This also marked the 8th anniversary of successful work of the Foundation.
Delta Foundation will present this facility, the investment worth about 500.000 EUR, to the City of Kragujevac, which provided the construction land in the immediate vicinity of Šumarice Memorial Park as well as complete infrastructure.
The construction of the Centre led by Delta Real Estate will last 6 months. The facility is planned to open on St. George Day, at the same time when Days of the City of Kragujevac are held. By building “Iskra” Centre we will provide the best possible conditions for sports and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities but also raise the awareness about their abilities and challenges facing them on a daily basis. The facility will operate under the protection of the City Secretariat for Social Protection.

“Iskra” Centre will have the area of 660 m² and will offer:
• Four accommodation units;
• Multifunctional space for education, seminars and inclusive meetings;
• Sports and rehabilitation block with a room for therapy massage, a hydrotherapy room, a gym and a consulting room for a psychologist and a pedagogue.
The capacity of the facility, which will be completely architecturally adjusted and barrier-free, with tactile paths, signs in Braille alphabet and adequate locker rooms, is 88 users – 21 users in the rehabilitation part, 15 users in the accommodation and 52 users in the multifunctional part. “Iskra” Centre will employ 15 professional employees.
