In the special ceremony Delta Foundation presented the key to “Iskra” Centre for sports and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities to the City of Kragujevac. Mikica Budimirović, President of the Association of Basketball Players in Wheelchairs, received the key to “Iskra” Sports Centre on behalf of future users.

The Sports Centre was opened by Director of Delta Foundation Ivana Mišković Karić: “As we have promised, today in Kragujevac we continue the spirit and tradition of the greatest donors in Serbia. I wish a lot of success to future users in their sports competitions. I would like “Iskra” to light your way towards success and realization of your dreams”.

Gordana Damnjanović, member of the City Council for healthcare and social protection, said: “I am convinced that this impressive building will become one of symbols of the City of Kragujevac and our country because it is our intention to make “Iskra” into a regional Para Olympic centre. It is our duty to take care of this endowment and respect the will of its donors by turning it into a symbol of permanence, reliability and eternity”.

This place for recreation, education, socializing and sports activities of persons with disabilities has the area of 660 m² and it offers high-quality services in the space adapted to all forms of disabilities.

Apart from 4 apartment units and rehabilitation part, the Sports Centre also has a gym and a multifunctional hall for education, seminars and meetings.

A running track, an orientation field for optically-challenged persons and a bowling alley In the yard complete the offer of this unique Sports Centre.

The endowment is located near Memorial Park “Šumarice” and Delta Foundation gave the amount of 625.000 EUR for its construction and furnishing
