First-instance court award for Miroslav Miskovic, charged with financial frauds in the road maintenance companies, will be issued in the Special Court in Belgrade on 20th June.
The Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime has asked the court to sentence Miskovic to 12 years in prison and a fine for the criminal offenses of office duty abuse and tax evasion in assistance.
Miskovic’s defense counsel requested the acquittal because allegedly there is no evidence about Miskovic being involved in any frauds with the road maintenance companies.
“Delta holding” owner Miroslav Miskovic expressed his hope that the court would decide to acquit him because this court award would decide whether Serbian judiciary was on its way to Europe.
Miroslav Miskovic was detained for eight months but was released against the bail of 12 million euros.
